He who waits for chance may wait a year. – Yoruban proverb
Ok, we’re here now. A new dawn is upon us and everything we said we wanted to do after the holidays, after the partying, after the New Year is now staring us in the face.
Life has slid a voucher under your proverbial front door that says: Permission Granted. The only thing you have to do is pick it up.
Because in your story, it doesn’t matter what you want to do, it doesn’t matter what you’re qualified to do, it doesn’t matter what you could do. What matters is what you DO do.
Unfortunately, as we all know, the last hurdle we have to maneuver around before embarking on change is, ourselves.
Hey. You’re already good enough. You already have permission. You just have to pick up that voucher. And if we can’t be motivated to nudge our compass of change on January 2nd, then when will we be?
After Cashing It In
As you do decide to take that first step in a new direction, try to have the mindset of experiment instead of success. Because to eventually succeed, you have to do, and to do you have to try and to try means you have to experiment.
Understand that the timing is never right, but today it’s about as right as it’s ever going to be.
Now go pick up that voucher and ding your universe.
